Back To School & Back To Breakfast! #Breakfast

Thank you for stopping by little island studios, please subscribe by email to follow along in family fun!

So, breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day.  Right?  However, not enough time and thought is being put into our food.  We have put everything else above food - Facebook time, TV, work and sometimes even the busyness of just staying "busy".  I know everyone is busy.  I am busy.

Here are some basic breakfast suggestions - slightly tweaked!
Eat Well.

How about fresh organic strawberries, an orange juice ice pop
and sprouted toasties with grass fed butter and jam.

Instead of a regular empty bowl of cereal that is full of chemicals, GMOs, food colorings and other additives, choose freshly sliced fruit and fresh baked banana walnut spiced bread.  I bake the bread the night before when the kids go to bed and in the morning I slice up the bread and some fresh fruit.  Absolutely delicious and what a treat to start the day!

If you are going to eat cereal - try a healthier organic cereal with far fewer ingredients with sliced banana on top.  I love One Degree Organic Foods brands, everything they make is absolutely outstanding and I buy them all!

Irish oats with sprinkled with raw honey, chia seeds and freshly sliced strawberries, bananas and grapes.

If you really want a bit of sweets, try an Immaculate Cinnamon roll  (they are non-GMO and have few ingredients), eat only a half and add some fresh fruit and fair trade coffee.

Eating real food, non-GMO and organic food is one of the best things you can do for your body and for your children's future health.

My Notes:

I eat organic and non-GMO food only - look for organic and Project Verified Non-GMO labels.

Please educate yourself about the food crisis in America.  Educate yourself on GMOs and the massive amounts of pesticides in our food and the all-time highs of illnesses and diseases in our country.

Here are additives and "extra" ingredients that I avoid. (via Project Verified Non-GMO)

Common Ingredients Derived from GMO Risk Crops
Amino Acids, Aspartame, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Ascorbate, Vitamin C, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Ethanol, Flavorings (“natural” and “artificial”), High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Lactic Acid, Maltodextrins, Molasses, Monosodium Glutamate, Sucrose, Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP), Xanthan Gum, Vitamins, Yeast Products.

America's health is showing are attention to our food - our health is so low in world health it is not even in the top ten.  Not even near it.  We must get back to the simpleness of food and educate ourselves in the importance food plays in our health.

Our children are depending on us.
